Now my driving style helps as well as I hardly ever see the boost gauge move and that's because with the tune this 7.3 has some incredible low end torque and throttle response. I know some of you are going to call bull shit on it but I had a friend along with me on this trip and right when we got into the Dallas area just before the I20 intersection I pulled over to fill up and he too couldn't believe how well this truck did. Traveling from Houston to Dallas on I45 which for the local folks know is very flat the whole way, had the wind in my tale I was able to get 28.4 mpg at 75 to 77mph. I put a gearvendors overdrive right behind the transverse case and with the 4:10s in the rear at 80mph my 7.3 is just under 2k rpms. I have a low mileage 70k miles 02 F350 4x4 DRW. While that's a very good hwy mileage it can be better. ![]()
